Deadline to request an audition slot is March 27, 2017. Requests will not be accepted past this date.

Audition scenes, an audition form, and a list of specific audition appointment times for each person who requests a slot will be issued one week before auditions.

Actors need to bring with them a completed audition form to their audition. All audition forms must have the signed commitment agreement attached and the schedule initialed by a parent. Head shots will be taken. Auditions will consist of readings from the script.

An all-hands meeting on April 17, at 9:45am is required by parents and cast members. Scripts will be distributed. Rehearsals will begin April 19.

To prepare for auditions, actors should read the original novel or watch a film. Recommended are the 2011 film adaptation starring Mia Wasikowska and Michael Fassbender or the 2006 BBC miniseries, available through Netflix.

Considerations:

Casting will be based on audition performance and characterization.

Cast size is limited; it may be that not all actors who audition can be cast or will be cast as extras.

Some roles may be double-cast or cross-gender cast.

Actors will be required to read play background information and build characterizations once they are cast.

Additional positions available by permission of the director (for which some previous or related experience is preferred):
·       Student director or assistant stage manager
·       Technical and backstage, i.e. running crew, light and sound boards, etc.
